Mirror is convex both top to bottom and side to side. The mirror surface is not wavy like lots of cheaply made mirrors and has a clear as glass surface. It has two point of ball and socket adjustments, one on the base and one on the mirror back. Actual mirror component is 3" tall x 2 5/8" wide. I bought it to see behind me to the interior of our camper van. It gives me a floor to ceiling, side to side view of stuff falling out of the cupboards, ha. It would probably work fine for it's intended purpose (blind spot mirror). I'd buy it again.
