This product is a strong piece of plastic that holds the cables in place and lays flat. I bought this to run an extension cord for Christmas lights through my front door. The three sections used to span the space remain. The easiest way was to run the cord under one section and then lay the next in place. The protector came in a box that keeps the product flat and rigid. The packaging was strong enough to store in the off-season. Unlike the cheaper twisted silicone or rubber versions, you don't have to tape it to the floor or trip over the ends.
