This was my first pair of non-New Balance diabetic shoes. I chose them because they are a cheaper alternative to NB. Big mistake. After 3 months the sole burst and had to be repaired with superglue. My feet are supinated and the Mew Balance roller bar minimizes uneven heel wear. I have enough New Balance products for about a year. The Propets have what the company calls a "heel counter" which I believe serves the same purpose as the roll bar, but the Propets are already showing significant heel wear after just 3 months. Width 5E is not enough. I've read reviews that the Propet 5E is actually larger than the New Balance 6E. In my experience, this has not happened. These shoes are snug and don't have enough depth for custom orthotics. I wish I had saved a few more dollars and bought New Balance sneakers. live and learn
