I have successfully split a small VHF/UHF roof antenna into four TVs with no amplifier. A slightly cheaper unbalanced splitter gives more loss per 3 outputs and less loss per output than a balanced splitter. If that suits your needs, fine, but this balanced splitter has lower losses on four identical outputs than three ports with higher losses on an unbalanced splitter. For a typical home, balanced is better. If you need one feed per hundred feet to the stall, you may want a single-port, single-port, low-loss splitter. But you need an amp anyway.
