It works out. Note, however, that the toner cartridge itself can (and does) wear out.

I used this kit to refill black toner in my Magicolor 1600W. I still have cyan, magenta and yellow toner bottles when they run out. It just works. The video is sharp but at first glance it feels "fake" like it REALLY can't be that easy. But it is.========================================== = === ============ UPDATE: I refilled my black toner to 100% and over time it went down to about 50% and then the black toner cartridge failed. The prints were terribly stupid. I'm not sure if it's "broken". Just a warning: while refills work well and the new chip resets them correctly, the physical cartridge itself appears to have a finite lifespan. then dies. When I popped in a partially used black cartridge I had on hand, voila, the printer worked great again. =============================== I had a SMALL problem removing the old toner cap. It was quite brittle but firm so it snapped when I pulled on the little lip with pliers BUT it took me less than a minute to get it out. Draining the old toner was easy. A few taps on the sides of the cartridge (place the cartridge in a plastic bag as shown in the video) and it fell out. The next step was vacuuming, and it was easy (hook every last drop of old toner out of every corner). and cracks, including suction from the toner hole). To get this right you need some sort of "slit" nozzle on your vacuum hose. Cut off the tip of one of the supplied nipple caps and screw it onto the toner bottle. Then insert the nipple into the toner hole, turn the bottle upside down and simply "squirt" the toner into the toner hole, like squirting ketchup. Keep squirting until all the toner is out of the bottle. Then it's time to insert the new toner cap (included) into the toner hole. At first I thought the new lid was too big! But after 5-10 seconds of work, he began to enter, and after 10 seconds this work was done and he could not get out on his own. The final step is replacing the computer chip. The only "trick" is to CAREFULLY look at how the old chip is installed before removing it, and install the new (included) chip the same way. *POSSIBLE* to put it upside down and/or backwards. This is NOT the fault of the refill kit, but of how the toner cartridge works. They made a VERY small Phillips head screwdriver (e.g. for eyeglass screws). Plug the cartridge back into the computer and it shows 100% full, ready to go! Just like when I bought MUCH more expensive replacement cartridges.

Pros
  • This is great
Cons
