I used to ride 2-3 times a week on fairly rocky terrain. I use flat pedals with adjustable pins that rip the fabric on them when my pedal hits the back of my foot. I feel like you have to compromise to offer something breathable and protective. I wouldn't use them for more than 2 seasons. I will probably buy another pair as there are no comparable pads on the market.
