Revainrating 3 out of 5

Easy to detach, good for electrical equipment

Make sure you can easily access the back after installation as the can-shaped nut at the end will loosen with any wiggling of the attached cord. I use this in my trailer, so I drilled a 1" diameter hole in the plastic wall (which is about 3/16" thick). Assume the large nut is threaded on and the serrated end wedges inward, compressing the assembly. However, when plugging and unplugging USB charging adapters, I found the nut to loosen very easily and had to be re-tightened. Of course, mine is clamped on very hard plastic so the little prongs don't dig in like you would if you were mounting it on softer material like wood or board. On the plus side, I really like the polished front end. I removed the washer on the front that was causing the front to protrude about 1/2" because the nut on the back was too long after going through the hole, and I still wanted less protrusion to accommodate to clean the case better We haven't done our first ride with it yet, so we'll have to see if further modifications are needed to keep it running.
