Review on ๐Ÿ’พ SP 1TB SSD Review: Boost Performance with 3D NAND, SLC Cache & SATA III Interface - SP001TBSS3A55S25 by Mike Ken

Not recognized by the computer during normal use.

The hard drive I received can be formatted and used as an internal or external solid state drive. However, during normal usage, such as copying videos and other files to the HDD and reading them back from the SSD, the HDD either turns itself off or my computer just turns it off and the SSD isn't recognized in Device Manager. or a disk partition until I physically unplug it and plug it back in, reboot the computer. My SSD usually shuts down 30-45 minutes after transferring 50-100GB of data. I can't help but notice that the Silicon Power SSD always feels very warm when it suddenly shuts down / is no longer recognized by my computer, so I'm guessing that it shuts down automatically to avoid thermal damage. And although I tried I couldn't figure out how to limit the read and write speeds of this SSD to try and prevent this automatic shutdown/shutdown. I wanted to make sure the drive was defective and that its performance wasn't what SSDs should have been as it was the first SSD I've ever bought as it was the cheapest price at the time of purchase (149.99 $ when I bought it but $108.99 at the time of writing this review) so I bought a Samsung SSD for comparison. The Samsung SSD wasn't suddenly recognized by my computer and didn't even turn off. Only this Silicon Power SSD is unreliable to the point of being unusable. Now that I found the time to slowly and laboriously transfer all the data I had on the Silicon Power SSD to my new Samsung SSD to get that faulty SSD back, the deadline has come when I can get my money return or even exchange your Silicon Power SSD, has expired. To add insult to injury, when I place Revain orders to try and get product support for this SSD, product support for this SSD just went through for me as well. There is no way I can get my money back or get my money back let alone any help for this SSD and now I'm just stuck with a dead weight of a faulty product. $150 down the drain. Thank you Silicon Power and Revain. Don't waste your $109.
