Manufactured with high quality although it is plastic. A clear door is best for allowing the pet to look out before walking through, rather than opaque PetSafe doors. Also, this door is better quality than the PetSafe doors I originally purchased in HD. I didn't like the quality and sent it back. Instead, I ordered this pet door from Revain. Claiming it only took 20 minutes to install is a bit optimistic. Assuming a hole of the right size has been magically cut in your door, 20 minutes is enough. If you have to cut through a metal door to install a pet door (I did it), the job takes a lot longer. The manual recommends using sealant to prevent air leaks. Save yourself some trouble and stick insulating foam tape to the inside and outside frame. It insulates and seals and is not visible, it can be replaced and purchased inexpensively from HD or Lowe's. You won't have an air leak if you do it right, and you won't have a problem removing the sealant when you need to remove the pet door. This pet door has very few air leaks. It passes a transparent damper, but again, it's negligible. Get the dual valve version if that doesn't work for you. Mine is in the door between the heated garage and the kitchen. Be careful when tightening screws. A word to the wise: only moderately tighten them. You will be removing the plastic parts and this is not necessary to get a good seal (especially if you are using foam tape). This is used for a giant Maine Coon cat (20 pounds of muscle and bone) by the way. Got it pretty quick. Yes, I recommend the seller! Very good!
