It's easy to understand for beginners because it has built-in autoloader that makes development faster than any other frameworks I've used previously (such as Cakephp).
The documentation could be better but still pretty good compared with others. You can also find out how things are done in this platform by looking at their code repository which contains many examples of common use cases like CRUD operations or RESTful API endpoints etc. We were using PDO database abstraction layer along with ZendDb ORM library so there was no need to write custom queries since everything you needed was already provided through these libraries - great! Plus if you want something not included in core then just look into github repo and fork it yourself :) Currently we develop web applications mostly related to real estate industry where data security matters heavily, therefore having authentication mechanism integrated directly from db level helped us avoid writing additional classes.
