I was looking for a good solution to track my pets

Media could not be loaded. I was looking for a good solution to keep track of my pets. I have a 70 lb labrador who loves the water and an 8 lb cat who loves to hide from me when it's time to come over for the night. Finding a solution for both pets was a daunting task to say the least. For a cat, it should fit comfortably on the detachable collar she already wears. The Marco Polo tag weighs less than 30g and is attached with a soft nylon webbing holder that fits snugly around the collar so nothing dangles or snags on branches. She barely noticed after I put it around her collar. For the lab I need a product that will stand up to his love of water and how he trudges through the bushes on our hikes. I take it with me on trips where we often find ourselves in areas with no cellular coverage and it's one of the few products that works anywhere without the need for cellular coverage. In terms of cost, I looked at the popular GPS/cellular system (which is too big for my cat and doesn't work where I walk my dog) and even their retail prices when you add the maintenance fee at the end of the first year for my 2 pets it is actually more expensive than Marco's. Polo is - and after that the fees don't stop! After 3 years, the GPS device is almost 3 times more expensive than the Marco Polo. PS I found a video online of a tag being hit by a car, these things are built to take a beating!

Pros
  • Location and activity tracking
Cons
  • Very expensive
