Gave this product 4 stars because I’ve only had it a short time so cannot really judge durability. It’s a sturdy collar, but because of the end clips, the XL size (23.6 in) is required for a 70 lb Golden who normally wears a 22in metal choke chain (measured between rings). However the rope is of a suitable thickness and better yet does not get as hot in the summer as do the metal chains. I would buy these again.

With the large plastic ends on the collar, you lose about 1-2 inches of length. I have a puppy who will grow out of it in about a month, so won't bother returning it. I won't buy another one. Too much guess work with the way the choke is made.

Seems funny it is so hard to get a good dog collar, I think I have bought 12 in the past year, some are to small some are to big even though I always order the same size. My dog is 82 lbs of muscle. He broke the metal loop the first day, everything else held together and the collar is still working. Ring needs to be solid not bendable. We now are hooking the lead behind the plastic end piece.

this is a perfectly fine soft collar, except that the ring can get hung up on the large plastic end cap, which means that the collar does not get tight when you pull, defeating the purpose. I can imagine a dog pulling out of it easily if that happened at the wrong time. If you're careful or have another sort of hold on your dog, it should be fine.

The material does not heat up like metal collars, it also does not rub the skin like other bulky collars. Thanks for attention.

rope collars work well for our dogs, they don't dent fur and still provide security on a leash. These have a very large plastic piece on either end that restricts the length and creates an unsatisfactory "leg", that makes dog tags hang too low.On the positive side it seems well made.

Overall, if you need a good choker to keep your dog in line, look elsewhere, but if you want the ease of a quick slip on when you head out, this may be the product for you. It slips over her head and works really well; my only complaint is it is a bit too thick. I was hoping the diameter of the rope wouldn't be as thick. It doesn't get quite the reaction out of her as the thinner training collars, but I can't find a thinner one long enough to go around her neck.

Great product so why the 4 stars instead of five? Because of the sizing. My dog has a 13 inch neck right now so I ordered the 17.7" collar. The plastic knobs on both end of the collar makes the collar smaller actually. This is going to fit my puppies neck for about a week. Other than that it's a wonderful slip collar.

Bought these for our husky pups when we went camping. Liked the idea off the rope being friendlier on their neck than choke chain. Waa buying choke chains after first 2 hours as it took 10 min for them to chew them to pieces.

Dog didn’t mind the collar. The ends are secured with plastic, and the ring won’t slip over to the other end. This leaves a two inch end hanging over that bangs on her feeding bowl. Annoying!

We call it his "sporty" collar, and he seems very comfortable with it. Even when we first put it on him, he never seemed to notice any difference. It's very thick and durable, and I think maybe more comfortable than his old metal one.

I bought this for my golden puppy. He’s now 5 months and has outgrown the collar. I’ll be buying another because it’s solid. I like the rope rather than metal chain. It’s reflective and has been effective in training heel to my pup.

I’ve bought every size from xs-xl trying to figure out what size was needed for my 4 dogs. The XS, L, and XL all worked fine, so far. The S and M are poorly made and don’t work right, the rings are to small for the collar diameter. There for they don’t measure the right size and will be to small for your dog

It seems to be well made but need some time of use to confirm. I would have prefered if the "Rope" were thicker than needed for strength but better for the dog's comfort when he pulls on the leash(he's still in the training mode).

Great product but the size was way too big for my dog. I even doubled checked the measurements before I ordered. Not sure if they explain the measurements right

Our rescue Buddy is 63lbs and VERY active. He loves the outdoors and we go on walks 3 times a day. He never had any kind of training so this collar helps a lot with discipline.The collar is suitable for training and just walking. I want to buy another leash.

The length advertised is the overall length of the collar. There is a large plastic molded piece that is a couple of inches long that reduces the length that the ring can slide. If you measure around your dog's neck, you need to add about 2-3" to get the right length.
