The sad part about paying $300-$400 for Bose headphones? The ear pads wear out after about a year of active use. Doesn't seem very well made for $$. However, you will come here to find new ones. You can pay $40 for an OEM replacement, but why? You will break too. That seems like a very good replacement. Feel like the originals and cancel out noise just as well. I will update this review if anything changes. What is NOT easy is the installation. Bose uses this tiny clip system around the perimeter of the earcup to hold the pads in place. Installing new ones is not easy. However, what I have found to make this MUCH easier is to use the back of a spoon. Attach new pads and use a spoon to slide the edges of the pads under the tiny hooks. Believe me, this will make it MUCH easier for you and keep you from piercing a new pillow with your nails.
