Good Stuff best in my review

What can I say, it's what I needed. It worked and it didn't break the bank. If I might suggest something, if you have never used this I have some advice. I had never used it paint on membrane, because I couldn't find it in the stores I frequent. But I decided to start. My suggestion is to not over lap tape regardless of how much of a pain it is to get the exact measurement of the seem tape. For example; you do your corners, and then you have a horizontal but joint, start your tape at the edge…

Pros
  • good
Cons
  • May not be suitable for use in areas with high levels of vibration

Great for using on shower project.

Decided to DIY my shower project since prices were way too high for something I could do myself. Had to redo the shower because the home builder (well, the tile folks who installed the shower), did it incorrectly and we had leaks. I researched how to do the project and YouTube has a lot of good information. I found one video using a product like this with a waterproofing compound so I bought this brand. I used it with AquaDefense and it worked great. I first installed the concrete panels and…

Pros
  • Used to waterproof shower walls
Cons
  • May be more expensive compared to other similar products

Great membrane: my feedback

This fiberglass waterproofing membrane works great! It was easy to use, (does not have adhesive) you just redguard or other it down.It really helps seal the areas of the shower pan to wall and corners to make a fantastic waterproof shower.

Pros
  • It looks like it works. Cant say how long it last. I know my sweat beaded off it. LOL
Cons
  • May not be compatible with certain types of adhesives

X Fasten Fiberglass Waterproofing Anti-Fracture Membrane Fabric Tape, 6-Inch x 75-FootVery excellant for reinforcing seams on the roof, and you saturate with roof (rubbery or latex) compound. The roof product is generally a bit thicker as paint and you paint it on the roof or object to be sealed and then saturate the cloth covering the seam.for clear understanding, there is NO STICKY on this cloth, it is just a cloth, that you use roofing material to attach to the roof. You can kin this to using…

Pros
  • Fast delivery, quality product
Cons
  • May not adhere well to oily or greasy surfaces

Surprisingly Very Strong

I had good experience using this tape,Waterproofing a large shower with a tall niche'I had been using a cheap paper tape that ripped far too easy, Especially in the corners where you need it the most !This tape is more like cloth and will not tear easily. I found it worked best if you coated the surface underneath,Using that as a stickem, Apply the pre cut length over that and brush/roll on more till the waterproofing is soakedthru. The only thing I didn't like was you cannot fold it in 1/2 and

Pros
  • Perfect and easy to use with the epoxy.
Cons
  • May not provide adequate adhesion in high-traffic areas

Very Good Product - my new review

This product worked very well and was easy to apply. I could see how others might say that it would crinkle up and not apply smoothly. However, it only did that if there wasn't enough product on the underside. The results of the final applied fabric tape was solid and we will definitely use again when we do our next bathroom remodel.

Pros
  • It works
Cons
  • No glue on product and not any instructions

Simple to use.: my feedback

Easy to use, self explanatory. I’m using this with Redguard for a shower project. Very pleased with it so far to help with water sealing and crack prevention.

Pros
  • Product works well with liquid membrane, but is a bit expensive for the amount on a roll.
Cons
  • May not provide adequate fire protection

Works well for my opinion

Wasn't sure about this at first, but after using on a custom shower installation, impressed with it. You need to put a fairly thick layer of liquid membrane onto the wall along whatever seam you are sealing, then press the tape into it with your fingers and a putty knife. once you have any wrinkles out, put another thick layer on liquid membrane on top and smooth it all out. Once it dries, put on another coat of liquid membrane. Adds a lot of strength and looks like it will do a solid job of…

Pros
  • Great product, I would definitely recommend.
Cons
  • May not provide adequate sound insulation

good product good for me

easy to use. Worked well for me sealing seams and corners of a shower I built. Used it with Red Coat. Would purchase again on next job where it would be needed.

Pros
  • To make sure the park did exactly what it was supposed to do which is refreshing
Cons
  • May not be suitable for use in areas with high levels of foot traffic

Great product good for me

Followed the instructions and pre-cut all of the pieces. I used a felt tip marker to notate the cut length which made it faster to install onto the wet waterproofing paint.

Pros
  • Works good
Cons
  • May be difficult to remove once installed

First time through I used Mapei Aqua defense. I taped all the corners and seams. I let it dry for a full 24 hours and they never fully dried. The cloth does not allow the membrane under it to fully dry. So then I thought it could be a crappy membrane. (I ended up removing all the taped seams because they peeled so easily due to it not being dry.I went and bought hydro-ban and tried again with that product. It is now the next morning and the same problem. If I poke a razor knife through the…

Pros
  • Very easy to use!! Better than the other ones!!!
Cons
  • May require additional layers for added protection

My Honest Review & No one paid me or gave me the product

Used with Redgard on shower job. Does not keep a fold and kept getting caught up in the putty tool I was using. Takes practice but overall worked for me. Make sure surface is completely flat or later you will have trouble with tiles not sitting flush in the corners.

Pros
  • Great product
Cons
  • It’s too thick, making it very hard to crease and keep in place when installing.

Just what my shower remodel needed!

Whoever called this stuff expensive toilet paper, I really want to see your Charmin shower remodel! Haha! This stuff is great, made the seam process super easy. I initially bout mesh tape, but returned it to get this stuff instead, and no regrets. It absorbs the waterproof membrane and just all becomes one, it’s fantastic! I chose to cut the strips into 3” wide strips, and it seemed to be just fine! I used it in every seam and had quite a bit left over.

Pros
  • Easy to cut to size and apply.
Cons
  • May not be flexible enough for certain applications

Great Price for my opinion

I just remodeled a shower. This was a great price for this amount of product. The product worked perfect for what I needed it for. Yes I would recommend.

Pros
  • Worked just as well as the hydroban membrane at half the cost.
Cons
  • Limited to only one type of underlayment

Great product good for me

I used this for waterproofing all the seams in my 7 ft by 3 ft shower. I still had left over. I think it worked great. May not be suitable for use in areas with frequent chemical exposure.

Pros
  • Worked perfectly. No issues.
Cons
  • May not be suitable for use in areas with frequent chemical exposure

Worked well with waterproofing membrane

I used this in conjunction with red-gard to waterproof the corners and transitions within my shower. Worked well with the waterproofing membrane.

Pros
  • Works well with Red Gard waterproofing.
Cons
  • May not be easily repairable once damaged

Good Value on my review.

Product is way flimsier than other similar waterproof fabrics - more like paper towels. Only used this product once so I can’t comment on longevity but it seems to seal and harden well.

Pros
  • Your hands stay clean over multiple wipes and you and wash an reuse the wad.
Cons
  • May require professional installation

Works, but can't hold a fold

Bought this instead of Laticrete because estimated delivery for Laticrete is about 2 or 3 weeks out from all sellers. Before using, I did a test strip with Redgard on Durock.it held nicely and did what it was supposed to do. So I don't have any worries about it failing. It definitely lays flatter than Laticrete. For inside corners, it works, but it doesn't keep a fold so you have to work it a little more to make sure it stays even and is pressed into the corner all the way. A plastic putty knife…

Pros
  • Good stuff works as described. Pretty easy to work with if you know what you’re doing
Cons
  • May not be suitable for use in areas with high-temperature fluctuations

Wow, now this is quality.

Seeing and feeling is believing. This stuff is amazing. Of course, I am using it for another project than what it was designed for but it has all the properties I needed. The material works exactly as I had hoped.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • May not be suitable for use in areas with heavy machinery
