worked well.: my feedback

My wife and I installed it in less than an hour and it looks good. Before the old seal could be pulled out the crimped ends of the trace had to bent open. Then the old seal came out with an easy hand pull. After struggling trying to get the new seal started in the grooves I had to open the end some more. Then my wife and I got about 3 feet of the new seal in by one of us pulling on the end of the seal and the other guiding the seal as it entered the grooves. We finally got some cooking oil and…

Pros
  • It is heavy duty to keep three inches of rain out in Florida
Cons
  • This product is 1/4 at the ends not 5/16! Does not come close to fitting.

Easy install in my review

Easy to install but needs at least 2 people. I purchased 20ft seal. It came rolled up. I unrolled inside to warm it up and bring the inside tube back to shape. Next day I pulled out the old seal and cleaned the track. Then it just a matter of shaping the seal into a U and stuffing it back into the track. That worked by myself for about 8ft. Then you need to stuff and pull at the same time. Get a friend/ neighbour/ wife so you can feed into track and pull at same time. The more you feed the more

Pros
  • Perfect fit!
Cons
  • Easy to install, material too thin 2mm only. Not sure will last.

A little bit short on my review.

I read others had a hard time pulling the seal over the entire run. I agree, but spraying soapy water along the front edge did help.My main complaint is that the length once installed was about 2 inches short. Leaving an inch unsealed at each end is a perfect entry point for mice. Maybe the actual length is 16 ft. but when installed there is a bit of shrinkage in the length. I saw other choices that mentioned a few extra inches of length (say 16 ft. 2 inches) which would have solved my problem.

Pros
  • A struggle to install because of my finger strength. Its a 2 man or more job
Cons
  • The description said 20ft but it was only 16th long.

Doesn't seal, it flattens to the ground

i had to have my sons install this and it works for a while but then i still have to put blankets on the bottom of my door to keep the snow and rain and cold air from coming in. i was bummed it didn't do what it said it was supposed too and i'm still putting blankets or rugs on the floor to keep out cold air.

Pros
  • Worked out fine mounted easy
Cons
  • May not be suitable for high-traffic garage doors

The replacement install is not easy but they never are as a rule. I received the seal rolled up in a bag, which makes it extremely difficult to straighten out. We live in a very cold climate so I soaked the seal in hot water to make it easier to straighten. I left 1 1/2 inches on each side and it shrank over a one week period to being 1 1/4 short on each side! I could not have left more hang over without getting caught in the door. Not sure how to do it better next time.

Pros
  • Nice heavy seal, much better than the original.
Cons
  • May not provide optimal protection against snow and ice

Poor Quality on my review.

Quality of rubber is poor, first order was rotten and easily tore with hands. Received replacement and was better but still ended up with a small tear sliding it on the garage door. Over all seems to be working for low price paid.

Pros
  • SEAL DUSTPROOF INSULATION
Cons
  • May not provide the desired aesthetic appearance

Tears too easily, not durable

I would not buy this product ever again. My husband said it just shredded to pieces in his hands when he was trying to install it.

Pros
  • Easy to install. Good quality material
Cons
  • May be difficult to clean and maintain

keeps out the wind good for me

Although it was a bit of a challenge to install, it has been a significant improvement to our garage. No more drafts through the doors! Make sure you have someone help you. One person can pull while the other person carefully feeds it into the track.

Pros
  • ‎Rubber
Cons
  • May not properly adhere to painted or coated surfaces

Started ripping in about a month

It was fine for about a month but I already see 2 ripped spots. Quite disappointing strength. Previous rubber served over 15 years.

Pros
  • Easy to install and watched the video use soap water helped a lot.
Cons
  • May require frequent replacement due to wear and tear

Hard To Install Without Lubricant

I've installed two of these at different times on two different doors. The first installation was a nightmare. It required two people and Herculean strength to pull the weather strip through the aluminum bottom door channel. The first one took about 30 minutes because half way through the gasket came out of the channel and had to be removed and started over. I eventually used some dish soap to make it easier but that didnt work very well. The second installation took only 5 minutes after some…

Pros
  • ‎No
Cons
  • May not be suitable for garage doors with low overhead clearance

Silicone spray lube

I did two 9' doors with this roll. First door I did myself and it took 45 minutes. The second one I had a helper pull as I pushed and guided it in the track, and it only took 15 minutes. Silicone lube is a must.

Pros
  • Does not look as if it will flatting in a month or two.
Cons
  • May not be compatible with certain garage door openers

Not 16ft Long! - my new review

This is advertised as a 16ft garage door seal. It measured 15’10”. It was returned as I needed what I ordered - a 16ft garage door seal.

Pros
  • works with my Raynor 8 foot door great price
Cons
  • May be difficult to remove if needed

Not easy to install!

After i struggled for 3 hr of installing this 1 inch at a time pulling from end and walk to the other and push 1 inch and yes I did use soap to lubricate. The seal is to 2 inches to shor, I want a refund

Pros
  • ‎13.11 x 12.6 x 4.65 inches
Cons
  • May not provide optimal protection against drafts

good fit just make sure you order the right one

no issues with install. just make sure your tracks are clean and use soapy water so it slides easily. Have had installed for approx 5 months and no issues

Pros
  • Very nice seal
Cons
  • The T on the bottom of the seal was to long and didn’t fit so I order a different brand and it worked

Good quality product

Installed on two 18’ garage doors. Fit and finish look great. We had a hard rain with high winds and no water penetrated the seal.

Pros
  • New Universal Design
Cons
  • May not provide proper insulation against sound

Glass Bay Doors: my feedback

They were perfect! Slid right on, they’re tough material , and very thick. The heavy glass doors barely swished them. No rain got in plus the heat didn’t kick on so much. Saved us money. Really happy with these.

Pros
  • Building Supplies
Cons
  • May require trimming or cutting for proper fit

Have a second person on standby for installation

Overall I am pleased with the items purchased (10 ft and 16 ft strips with 5/16in T's). The seal is an upgrade from the last seal used on my garage doors. Shipment was prompt, and measurements were accurate. My garage doors are 20+ years old and the tracts a little worn. Ultimately, installation was reasonable, but I needed a helper to keep the seal in position as it was pulled into the garage door tract. Getting it started was not an issue, but as I continued to pull it through the tract (even

Pros
  • Great Product
Cons
  • May not properly seal against garage floor or driveway

Almost Perfect good for me

Had some issues installing. The garage door had the original seal on it, and was very difficult to remove. Once removed, I had to really work to get this one in. Once installed, I had to adjust the sensors on the door as apparently this one was a bit thicker than my old one and the door would reopen once it hit bottom. After adjusting the sensor, it closes fine, but I still find on a windy rainy day, I get some leakage on the left edge. Not as bad as the old, torn one, but didn't completely…

Pros
  • ‎Storystore
Cons
  • May not be suitable for high humidity environments

Easy install, good design

My old 18-year old garage door flat weatherstrip did not prevent driving rain from entering my garage. My garage floor is apparently uneven, and this flexible "pressure design" seals the bottom effectively. So far, this has worked well. Good value, easy install.

Pros
  • what a product. it worked wonderful thank you
Cons
  • Difficult to install for beginners

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Two person installation

Difficult installation even with two people. T track not very sturdy so kept coming off track. Hope it will hold through tough Minnesota ice and sub zero temperatures.

Pros
  • Easy to install.
Cons
  • May become discolored over time due to exposure to sunlight
