My 4-year-old loves puzzles and liked all 4 designs. It's a little advanced for a 4-year-old due to the number of pieces, but he is able to figure it out by starting out with putting together the pieces on the edges. Then my 8-year-old came home from school and finished off the rest really quickly, so I'd say it's easier for slightly older children to work on. Both kids enjoyed it. I especially like the bag that it comes in to store all loose pieces.
