This reversible dog jacket is lightweight, almost like a flannel-lined windbreaker, not for freezing temperatures. It's also smaller than expected, although I measured my dog before ordering. It doesn't cover it all the way to the tail but I won't be returning it as my granddaughter just got a mini aussie to use when she grows up. I've previously bought another coat from Target and it wasn't long enough either, but it was longer than this one. Both were marked as size XL, under 45 lbs. or so, my dog is 40 pounds, slim build. Buy a size up if you are anywhere CLOSER to that size and not the size you should be!
