I used this camcorder as a webcam. The image is very sharp and I have enough control over the lighting to take great pictures. The only downside to using it as a webcam is that when you zoom in and out, the zoom bar stays in the frame and doesn't disappear. I'll keep playing with it and figure out how to make it go away. Menu items are not available in webcam mode with mini HDMI cable in jack.
