The defog function is a problem as the mirror gets very hot when connected. The temperature is 60 F above room temperature. Maybe it's standard on all mfg lighted mirrors, but it felt very hot, and who wants to pay for 24/7 electricity to heat a mirror to boil an egg on? Maybe the heater in my mirror is broken? I don't know and my 30 day guarantee has expired which may or may not have played a part in requesting a refund. But I painted the lighted portion of the mirror blue with Krylon Sea Glass translucent spray paint and didn't want to do that. I am returning the mirror which I was otherwise happy with. Not wanting to use the anti-fog feature, their customer service rep named "Icy" was excellent in that she (?) responded immediately (?) to my request to fix the heating issue by unplugging the heating element. She even sent a tutorial video and a few additional notes. This is an easy fix for those who know how to use a screwdriver, as it involves removing the back panel and cutting the wire connecting the heating element, then taping the ends of the wires to prevent a short circuit. The mirror is beautiful, the lighting is good. and the customer service is excellent. I now rate the mirror a 5/5, but if my house were to burn down I would rate it lower.
