My laptop has a built in webcam and microphone but since I use a docking station I needed an external webcam that can be installed on the monitor. It was easy enough for me to set up. I have a MacBook Air and it plugs directly into a USB port. This will be especially helpful this fall when my kids are studying remotely and need to participate in Zoom calls with their teachers and classmates. Updated to add that the microphone either never worked properly or stopped working. I tested the video but not the audio and it ended up sounding very static. In the end I returned this webcam.
