Worked exactly as described on my Mercedes. I connected it to the media port in the armrest and set the stereo input to "Aux". From there, you can play anything from your iPhone (stream music, podcasts, etc.) and play it through your stereo. You control the volume with the car controls, but everything else (song selection, etc.) has to be done with your phone. It's literally like an old school add-on cable with a Lightning connector. The sound quality is significantly better than when connected to a stereo via Bluetooth (I suspect my car uses older Bluetooth protocols). In addition, this will also charge your phone, but this is limited by the power available through the vehicle's multimedia port. For example, in my car, when the battery is 20% and the GPS (Google Maps) is working, it can't handle the battery drain. But if your phone is already charged, you can leave it running on Google Maps all day and it will hold the charge perfectly.
