Review on TRETORN Nyliteplus Sneakers Lace Up Classic Men's Shoes for Fashion Sneakers by Mike Bigglesworth

Revainrating 4 out of 5

no tongue in shoes

I bought my first pair of Tretorn shoes in 1974. It was pretty obvious to me that I had found the sneakers of my life and bought all six pairs that I stocked in my shop were. the size. One of the few smart things I've done. The last couple died last month. I ordered ONE pair (I'm an old man now) from Revain and when I opened the box I was a little disappointed that they stopped tongue feeding…. just a flat, stiff strip of canvas. That's a problem. The top edge of my tongue presses down on my knuckle like a dull knife, leaving a red line of irritated skin on my knuckle. Curse. It will get better with time, but I don't want to put up with it. I folded back the tip of the tongue and secured it with clothespins, hoping this would solve the problem. If not, I'll be forced to pull out my heavy-duty scissors. Pro tip: a good spray of Scotchgard water repellent will help keep them clean.

Pros
  • worth the money
Cons
  • everything ok
