Broken parts make assembly difficult

This is one of the most difficult things I have ever had to assemble. I ordered this stool for my workshop. I built the workbench he wanted to use from my own designs. Over the years I've assembled swings and dozens of pieces of furniture, as well as made desks for my kids, custom made shelving for my closet, and a built in drop down table and shelving system for our laundry room. I know how to create things. It was terrible. The big problem was that none of the screw holes matched up. They were slightly offset on each leg and required a lot of bending to get them into place. The chrome plating was very cheap and was peeling off everywhere. I had to use a magnet to pick up all the little pieces (I originally started picking them up in my living room after they arrived in the mail). Some parts were also large. Whole pieces about an inch long fell off along with small flakes. I fiddled with this thing for almost two hours and it only has 9 screws! I was shocked. I've never been so frustrated putting something together. For what it's worth, the metal feels solid and the seat itself pivots well and feels comfortable, which is the perfect height for my custom workbench. But all I could think about the entire time I was struggling was how much I hated this chair and wanted to give it a rare 1 star rating. If you look at my story, it's extremely rare that I rate something so low. But even with a simple design, they still couldn't get it right. There is no excuse for that. Now I have a crappy looking chair with twisted legs and missing chunks of chrome, but it serves the purpose in my workshop. I still hate it every time I look at it because it gives me PTSD when I collect it. I tightened my right wrist and pulled a tendon or something in my right elbow which had never happened to me before and felt very strange and not good. I've since tried tapping the legs out with a rubber mallet to make them look less weird, but when I straighten them out they wobble horribly due to the offset. So I either have to live with that stupid look or suffer bad hesitation. Now I prefer function to form. I would have drilled new holes myself, but they were so wrong that I'm not sure I could drill another hole without affecting its strength, but so far out of alignment that it took a tremendous amount of effort to get it to the to get running. flesh against steel. Of course I have to learn to weld. If this company has any decency, they will send a replacement. But part of me really doesn't want to go through the build process again. I guess it wouldn't be so bad if the parts weren't defective, but who knows what I might get.
