Review on Heavy-Duty Magnetic CD Slot Car Mount for Cell Phones, Smartphones, Phablets, and Tablets - Mountek nGroove Snap+ by Brian Smith

Maybe I'll buy one for the wife too.

Just received this yesterday and my first thoughts are money well spent. The mount itself feels comfortable, not too heavy but not too light either. My car (Hyundai Veloster) is currently in the shop so I'll update when I get it back, but the Scion xB's wife has no locking issues. The blades that fit into the CD slot are the perfect length and won't cause any problems with the CD player as it thinks you're holding the CD by the edge all the time. I'm not sure if mounting causes problems when listening to a CD, I haven't used a CD in 10 years or more; At the moment I don't think this will cause a problem, tests will confirm it. The only issue I had was with the steel badges, hence the four stars. Personally, I don't know many people without some sort of smartphone case that renders the smaller icon practically unusable. The thickness of the large and small badge is perfect, but when I use the smaller badge on my Galaxy S5 with the Urban Armor Gear case (the badge sits in the case between it and the phone) it sits snugly on the mount. But while driving, every little bump in the road causes the phone to slide off the magnet a bit. A small badge would probably be fine for those who prefer to wear their phone bare, but even the thinnest case can be too thick for the small badge. I upgraded to a larger badge and have no complaints. The trick is much more than I expected. I had absolutely no issues with slipping while using the big badge on my way to work this morning and the commute is definitely not the smoothest in town. Overall I really like this mount and would definitely recommend it to anyone who finds the CD slot completely useless. I am thinking of getting my wife her own mount for both cars. If you share a vehicle you can also buy some additional Mountek badges to have some bigger badges.
