They are very easy to use and you will never forget to install them because they turn on automatically when you close the cabinet. Also, I moved out of my last apartment and they were easy to remove without damaging any of the closets. They worked successfully until my boy was two years old and he figured them out. But then I experimented with just using more on the same cabinet. He could figure out two quickly (by squeezing one with each tiny hand), but using three on each cabinet works. now! Now it's less convenient for us adults than before, but still easier than other types I've used like magnetic or other types I've seen that require you to use two hands, completely remove them from the cupboards and then you have to remember to put them back on when you're done.
