We basically live in Hooterville when it comes to high end gadgets and technology, so the phone at home is still analog and we can't activate the automatic call barring. In the meantime, we're being buried alive by insurance company robots willing to sell us extra insurance, political calls, surveys, and solicitations. In a DAY we received up to 10 calls from robots! We can't run back and forth on this telephone pole. . . Okay, this part is overkill, but not by much! However, every day we received 10 or more calls from robots. It got so bad that we cut all calls to live normal, peaceful lives. I am SO HAPPY I found this phone! With the ability to set your phone to show all incoming calls by asking the caller to say their name and then press the # sign, useless calls will no longer go through. Even if the lawyer says his name, the phone plays his answer and I can decide whether to take the call or let the answering machine answer. The phone doesn't even ring until the caller answers the confirmation instructions. Robo calls are dropped and I don't even know they called! It works the same as our home phone provider's screening service - the one we can't get because we still have analog phones. You can program the names and numbers of the people you WANT access to, or if they're identifying themselves through the verification service for the first time, you can press a button to add them to your favorite list. There's a REASON we live in Hooterville and it's peace and quiet. So glad he's back!
