I have long but straight eyelashes. The only way to keep the curls off the curlers was if I used waterproof mascara. But wearing waterproof mascara and going into town five days a week with a heated curling iron (not to mention the pain of removing that waterproof mascara) is a lot of work, and all of that *injury* caused my lashes to sometimes fell out in clusters. I love and will continue to use this product! Now I can just apply regular mascara in the morning and that's all my lashes need! Nonetheless. I almost gave up on the first try because I was so frustrated, so let me give my opinion! Do this one eye at a time when using this product for the first time. trust me.2. Fold/flex the silicone pads before use. When they come out of the box they are almost flat - by bending them you can make them more rounded and anatomically correct to fit snugly on the lash line. Trim if necessary.3. When applying silicone pads, hold them on the lash line for at least 3 minutes. If the glue underneath isn't completely dry when you let go, they'll likely peel off. When applying eyelash glue, use the coil brush to separate and sweep the eyelashes, then press the eyelashes against the silicone pad with your fingers. Use lots of glue, but apply it in layers and let it dry (not drip).5. Once your lashes are glued on, apply a final coat of glue to get a good measure. Wait until the glue is COMPLETELY dry before applying the first lotion. I immediately started applying it when the glue was still a bit tacky and about a third of my lashes were falling off the pad and I had to start over. NOT ALLOWED FOR DOUBLE DIVES. If you used a swab to apply lotion, throw it away! Don't put it back in the bottle! If you mix these products together, they will deteriorate and lose their potency. It says so on the packaging, but I really want to emphasize this point! It would be sad if you could pay money for this kit and only use it once. I *learned* all of these things while working on my first eye, so making the second eye wasn't that hard. All of this took me about a couple of hours in total, but this is my first time using something like this. I don't think it should take so long next time. This product is definitely recommended for women with straight eyelashes! UPDATE #1: The first time I used this product I got amazing results. But a few weeks later when I did a "touch up" to get rid of the new growth, nothing good came of it. Lashes that were already curled became much more curled and some of the new "virgin" lashes barely held, leaving me with some curled lashes up to my eyelid and others almost completely straight. However, I am determined to make this product work! UPDATE #2: I've been using this product about every 6 weeks since I bought it last spring. I have solved most of my problems with the product. If you use the product on all "virgin" lashes, you can leave it on longer (it took me a whopping 15 minutes on my first application). If I use it for touch-ups about every 6 weeks, I let it sit a few minutes less (about 10-12 minutes). I don't use it more than once every 6 weeks or the results won't be as good (see update #1). Also, now that I'm more familiar with it, it only takes me about an hour to use it. At the rate I use it I expect a pack to last about a year!
