I bought this mat thinking it would be a quality replacement mat after the kids tore the original mat while shoveling snow. After installing it, I tried it out myself. I didn't think he was as cheerful as in the original, but didn't say anything to the kids. When they tried later, everyone started complaining and saying the same thing. I told them it would probably loosen up and become more resilient over time, but a year later that didn't happen. The whole area came to use it. Now it is very rarely used and I am looking for a new carpet. He's working pretty well and holding up physically, but he's just not that springy. Maybe younger kids are ok if you don't want them jumping too high, but my high school students were disappointed.
