Works! So I was quite skeptical but desperate when I bought it. I have an older cat who loves to scratch my carpets. She literally ruined my living room rug around the edges - ripping out so many fibers that you can see the base of the rug. I bought her a new scratching post and blanket, which she seemed to like, and then I took a chance and crossed my fingers and bought a new blanket. nope! When I woke up the next morning I found that she had scratched the new carpet anyway. I was looking for a solution and came across this product. I was desperate, otherwise I honestly wouldn't have tried. I just couldn't figure out how spraying would prevent that scratch. Well it is! I only spray on the edges, that's where she likes to scratch. And while, knock on wood, she's never scratched. I respray the spray every few days because I'm paranoid, but I think I'll calm down eventually. Luckily it doesn't smell that bad. It's not my favorite - it smells a bit like clove to me - but it's good and goes away quickly. Hallelujah!
