Reference: I am 5ft 9in and 135lbs. the middle one was too loose in the leg and didn't give me a secure feeling in the squat The material is very soft, like a cotton blend Black is a different material than striped black, black and white bold striped and black and white plaid. My husband said all 4 of these colors protect against squats. I have a light black and white stripe and checkered medium size. They appear to be soft nylon blends. The medium sized black stripe is my favorite. It's a slightly thicker material than the others and doesn't roll on me at all. Any of these colors will work if you're not squatting. They all look, fit and feel good.
