The Surface is a great computer, except for one major drawback – it only has one USB port. USB hubs, most of which are bulky and don't serve the purpose of Surface's thin and light design. But this device has the same depth as the Surface screen, plugs in easily, and gives you three USB ports, one full-size HDMI port (you don't need another adapter), and an SD card reader right out of the box. The small, lightweight design makes it as portable as your PC. This hub worked great with my USB flash drives, external USB mic, and wireless mouse dongle. with my external Toshiba hard drive. This is not uncommon as external hard drives require more power and typically only run on a powered on computer or hub. However, I leave this device plugged into my Surface most of the time so I can use three USB ports instead of just one!
