It worked exactly as I expected. The audio is clear and I can easily use it to control Cortana without having to connect my Kinect to the console. However, this is a push-to-talk feature and when I'm in a group chat with other people, all sounds from the speaker are muted as soon as you press the push-to-talk button. While I understand this was probably necessary to avoid feedback, it's still very annoying considering the included wired headset doesn't have this limitation. It's also charged separately via a mini-USB port, rather than an auxiliary port on the controller itself like the included wired headset. This comes in handy if you want to use voice control and maybe a small group chat, but otherwise I'd use the included wired headset for serious conversations due to the mute feature. I wish I could use it without the talk button. Having enjoyed using the Kinect's voice capabilities, having the mic on all the time isn't that convenient.
