I like a lighter hammer when my hand gets tired from forging. I have a 4 pound hammer, a 3 pound hammer and this 2 pound hammer. These are exactly the weights I need, but they all have smaller faces than I'd like. You can see them in the picture, it's the smallest one from above. A 4 pound man has a medium sized face. So you can tell how small it is. Maybe 2 pounds of metal just isn't enough to make a bigger face, but I think it's there. But for all my whining about the dimensions of the hammer face, this is a great hammer and it has the best grip I've ever had. I would recommend it to friends as a lighter forging round hammer. It must be finished with a grinder or file to round off sharp edges. Otherwise, you'll see those sharp edges in the metal as lines. If you need a 2 pound hammer this is a great option and is generally very good value compared to most forging hammers.
