First, don't try waterproof LED strips with this as they're too thick to fit through the silicone sleeve. If your LED strip has spliced ends on both ends and you don't feel comfortable cutting them off and then splicing them back together after passing the light, don't buy these bulbs. I tried leaving a connection on the LED strip and it was too thick to go through. One side is slightly lighter than the other. I guess it's the top. However, when I passed the light through one of the sides, it completely separated. Break through a good foot or two. It became clear that they would not stay together. So I opened one side all the way through the tube and was finally able to insert the strip into the tube, turn it on and see the effect. Which was zero scatter. It was definitely still dotted all over. My light strip was 16 feet long with 300 LEDs. This should be enough to achieve the neon light effect as seen in the beautiful images they provide. However. Not as much. I would not recommend it. I am sorry.
