As many people know, HDCP protection makes it impossible for a person to record anything that uses its protection with a digital signal like HDMI. The PlayStation 3 is a little notorious for its HDCP protection covering everything, not just a specific app. This means that capturing gameplay from a video game is not possible unless (a) analog signals such as composite and component are used, (b) an HDMI 1.4b splitter is used, or (c) the PS3 HDCP -Protection is removed by hacking debugging.
