My normal pants last much longer. Cheaper than buying lots of new maternity pants. I would keep extra in my purse in case someone gets lost. Keep in mind that I only gained about 15 pounds in my first two trimesters. When I was 24 weeks old I had to switch to maternity pants. The only problem I had was that when I went to the bathroom (which often happens during pregnancy, let's face it!), the extension cord tended to accidentally fall off and fly across the bathroom floor. If I had it ok and I knew about it, it would hang by a button when the pants are down to the ankle. Sometimes I would hold it in my hand or put it in my pocket before sitting down.
