When my old electric steamer leaked and the clear plastic turned opaque, I started looking for a better electric steamer. I've read about polycarbonate, BPA, and other plastic chemicals leaching into food after repeated exposure to heat and moisture. The Secura electric steam cooker fits into the picture and solves the plastic problem. I will probably never use the delayed start function, but it is there. Even though it has two tiers, I use a single steamer basket most of the time. The only downside is that with 1200 watts of power and fast heat-up, I can't vape and use a coffee maker or microwave at the same time, or I'll end up in the kitchen.
