I bought these clamps because the jaws are nearly 3 inches wide. The pivot plates do not attach well to the body of the clamps and fall off very easily as they are only held by a very small round plastic male and female design. "I love these collars." But I had to drill a small hole for the pin, about 1/32nd in the middle of the area where the cheek plates attach. I placed a very small metal pin that I could bend at either end and kept the pins and both panels attached without worrying that they would ever fall off again. I did this with all four clamps. I mainly use them to hold glass panels on our glass shelf. If this product could solve these problems, they would have an overall winner.
