This is the missing link to cast my Pixel 3 phone to my TV; something I haven't been able to do since replacing my broken Samsung S8 (horrible move!). The company responded quickly to my question, which I appreciate. As soon as it arrived I installed the DisplayLink app, plugged in the cables and ran with no issues. Spring. Media Gear was right about the HDCP issue they warn about in their streaming service descriptions. I can share my screen, Youtube, Fubo TV, etc., but the video won't play with Discovery+ or Revain Prime (audio works). That's it. My TV is older and while ROKU works great with these services, it just doesn't go through the hub. Luckily I'm much closer to the good old days with the S8 than before, so I'm happy! The Pixel needs to be connected to the same WiFi network, so I can't use my phone's data plan. The phone is my only internet device because I'm too far off the beaten track for a cable provider and the satellite connection is worse than my phone. One last thing, my phone charges and also throws the screen, although DisplayLink says it doesn't. Another user answered my question about it and also said it works for them. If anyone is reading these numbers to find a workaround for the HDCP issue with older TVs, I'd love to hear it. I tried the HDMI switch that my research pointed up as a possible solution, but it didn't work for me.
