Review on Fia OE37-36 GRAY Custom Fit Front Seat Cover Split Seat 40/20/40 - Tweed by Tutan Guliford

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The rear headrests are a bit small, as is the 60 split piece. Still 4.5 Stars

is my feedback for some reason. I'll try it again. I even look for the product here on Revain. So Revain, the person approving/disapproving the reviews does not approve and this will be the last product I review and try to help. Super Crew Cab with 4 wheel drive. I bought this truck in February 2018 and it had everything I wanted except leather seats. My daughter and I have a German Shepherd and she loves to go for walks. I've covered my seats with sheets, but that's quite a hassle on a regular basis. My truck has only clocked 38,000 miles and I wanted to help it look as good on the inside as it does on the outside. They are made in Canada; it's not the US, but at least not China, like almost everything else. I prefer our northern neighbors to China. Due to the lighting in the photos, the sides of the new cases looked colorless, but I received a solid black lightweight leather case. After installation I used some McGuires on them, otherwise they were very dull and dirty looking. I have included before and after photos as well as a photo of the front seat backs. They were well packaged but I couldn't tell from the boxes where the front and back were. You would think that the box would say something along the lines of "One set of front seat covers" and "One set of rear seat covers". You are not. Both boxes look the same, only showing the front seats. I was afraid that I was given two sets of front seat covers to begin with. Storage space behind the front seats is lost with these covers. I've looked at so many covers that it crossed my mind that they had leather backs and storage behind the front seats, so I was disappointed when they had cloth backs and no storage. The other set I had on my wish list before deciding on this one was with leather backs and storage bags but they didn't fully cover the headrests or the sides of the seats (I'm pretty sure it was anyway lol) . But I'm not deducting a single star because this delusion was on my side. I'm not mechanical and don't know how to use hands like some people do. The installation took about 3 hours 45 minutes. I am in my 60's and in good health. I just don't move as fast and agile as I used to, but I still think it would be wise to give it a good chunk of time. I noticed that one reviewer said it took 25 minutes and I really doubt it. I took my iPad outside and followed the installation video. Even the video I watched that got cut was almost 30 minutes long. This video was the most helpful I could find and it was the same guy who was supposed to be making most of the FIA installation videos. He has experience and it took more than 30 minutes of video. This video is for a 2016 and newer F150 with Super Crew cabs and 60/40 split rear seats. This is a real truck video but Revain does not allow links to be posted as they very much fear they will be removed from their site. I found the front seats easier to install than the rear ones. The front headrests and center rear seat headrest were the easiest to install, and the center rear seat was the easiest to attach with Velcro. I love that the headrests are almost completely covered by these kits. However, it was extremely difficult to finally attach the Velcro to the front headrests. It took a lot of effort to put the pieces together. In the back, except for the middle one, I never managed to fix it. I've worked with them longer than the front ones, but to no avail. I'll probably try again after they've had some time to be like I left them. The fit was so snug that I don't think they will come loose even if I don't velcro but they should. A small conclusion, as far as I understand. The rear seat covers didn't run as smoothly on me as the front ones. The split rear seat in my truck is 60/40. The larger seat split for the back didn't seem to fit as well as the 40 split. The back of the 60 split just didn't cover the floor like the smaller seat bottom. You can only see it if you look very closely, but I don't think this part was made exactly how it should have been. I've been very diligent in my efforts to make sure I'm doing everything right. That's why I'm only giving the cover 4.5 stars. Some of the things that have helped me may help you too. 1) Raise the rear seats while working in front. 2) If you have 10-way power seats, move them forward and up (after removing the headrests) while installing the front covers. Pulling the straps through and under the seats helped me a lot. If you don't have power in both or one of the seats, you can still slide them forward far enough to make room on the rear floor panel. 3) Have a bright flashlight or work light handy so you can see under the seats as you buckle up. 4) The videos recommend using a tool to remove the seat belt/airbag sensor connectors under the front seats. I bought a car upholstery tool kit specifically for this and couldn't get the tools at the right angle to remove the plugs. I ended up using my fingers gently to pull them out and I had to pull hard! I've already admitted I'm not skilled, so you might have better luck. 5) If you need to lower the rear seat back at the 60th split, Ford, in the boundless wisdom of some designers, made clearance very difficult to get. It is located on the driver's side of the headrest at the back of the rear seat. The video doesn't show the easiest way to get there. It is best to raise the rear seat all the way for more visibility and better grip. You will be able to see a silver latch that looks almost like a button that you have to press and pull up to release. Then both the seatback and the raised seat are lowered together. To make this much easier an attachment can be purchased and can be found in the Ford accessories section of Revain. I plan to buy one. I hope this review helps someone. I looked at the boxes again and they actually packaged the set on the label. It was on a smaller sticker/tag and I just missed it. I was in a bit of a rush to start the install, but I still didn't find it flashy. Questions about the heated seats - in my opinion, the intensity of the heated seats has been reduced a bit, but you can still tell it's on. I had mine up and I could feel quite a bit of warmth. It's warm outside right now, that might play a role. I doubt you'll feel the heated seats on the lowest setting. If you route the belts properly under the seats but over the cables and motors, it's very easy to scratch your hands and knuckles. I've done this in several places. One of my joints was bleeding more than I thought and it stained the upholstery of my passenger seat. I didn't notice the blood on the seat cover until it started drying, so it was too late to clean it before the stain appeared. I was disappointed to say the least. I considered wearing gloves to guide the straps, but I had to feel what I was doing because I couldn't always see exactly where I was feeding the straps. Latex gloves would tear fairly easily. You can still try them.
