Review on Honeywell Home MicroDefense AC Furnace Air Filter 16x25x4 MERV 8: High-Efficiency Filtration (1 Pack) by Bryan Cavalcante

Accurately measuring the inside of an old unused one Honeywell electronic filter that no longer works. The filter housing is pointlessly installed between my new oven and the inlets. The cheap 1 inch filters I bought from Lowes never fit snugly and I didn't get good filtration due to the gaps that appeared. I found a couple of YT videos explaining how to convert those old fancy electronic filters for use with these. types. For me, just removing the screw is enough. Only this Honeywell brand is sized correctly to fit snugly between the pre and post filter webs leaving no room for air except THROUGH THE FILTER! My tip: Measure your filter housing ACCURATEly and then check the "ACTUAL" dimensions. the filter you are considering. The actual dimensions of this filter were only 1/8 inch smaller than my exact measurements to ensure it had enough slack to slide smoothly into the room without applying enough force to potentially bend or break. This filter is rated MIRV 8 for residential use. I have a 2.5 ton heat pump system and a higher MIRV creates too much airflow resistance, affecting the performance of my system. Lasts a year which makes sense given the equivalent quality/standard 1 inch filters these last 3 months and 4 inch thickness. The filter is also electrostatically charged for better filtering. than necessary, with bubble wrap it arrived slightly "crispy" on one side. I would return it if any damage prevented it from fitting smoothly or created air gaps but luckily it was just an aesthetic lady. ge. My guess is that the warehouse workers who pull these things (or are they robots?) lack the necessary training or programming to handle them carefully enough to avoid this problem. If I ever need to return one I will try to buy it in person from Lowes or somewhere else I can find it in stock.
