Review on MAYTEX 10 Gauge Super Heavyweight Frosty Vinyl Shower Curtain Liner With Rustproof Metal Grommets, 72" X 72 by Dedra Whitebird

12/12/14 Got Clear instead of the color I wanted, and paid more for the one I didn't get, but was completely taken care of by Revain, Revain rep was the best I have ever had and was reimbursed the difference. The product itself though. Since it arrived, I have had a sore throat, headache, eyes are tired, my nose is runny and I figured maybe I was coming down with a cold. I figured the shoveling outside and well what would one expect living in Maine. I thought at one point something was heating up and smelling, but the smell just seemed to be in the bathroom. I thought well maybe it was coming from the curtain, but it would air out after a week and then shut the bathroom door to keep the smell in there and not through out the house. Thinking back to when I opened it several days ago, I did think it had an overpowering smell to it. I figured it was the mildew resistant smell of whatever they put in the curtain to prevent it from molding. So I figured the smell would go away at some point. The door is still closed to the bathroom and the smell still is really strong and regardless of the bathroom door being shut, still lingers the whole house through. Still have a sore throat, but not as bad, my nose is still runny, my eyes are still tired. It is hard to believe that all of that from a shower curtain. I decided to look at the reviews and sure enough, many complained about the smell, but worse yet, mildew and mold which defeated the whole title of this product Maytex No More Mildew. As I read so many comments, had a few laughs, time went on and the laughs were. That's the curtain I'm using ? Well, now I know pretty much what to expect. Some of the reviews mentioned that some had this or that kind of gromment holes and now I'm wondering if a lot of you got the same product at all as you ordered it. So I'm going to test the product myself anyway and in the meantime, better start looking for another shower curtain. I don't like how I'm feeling sick wise, mildew potential when it is suppose to be mildew proof, Rusty Grommets after awhile ? Leaks of water all over the floor, more potential mold on the rug on the floor, more washing not only of curtain, but rugs too. My real mistake was not reading the reviews. I can't imagine why I didn't, I always do. Forgot I guess, what a stupid mistake that was and will report back on my experience after a month or two. Always Read Reviews !
