I've had Hunter fans on consoles for over 30 years and almost as long! Installation is easy and remote installation has been around for almost 20 years (at least). The receiver slides/hides in a gap above the ball joint and top of the ceiling mount. It's little more than a deck of cards. The fan is much smaller in motor size than the block I replaced. It's just as powerful and just as quiet. Once installed the remote worked well although it was basic compared to the old standalone Hunter remote systems I had. The light can change, if you turn on the light and hold the button, the light will dim and turn on again, just release the button at the desired level. In general, it's the same as the previous hunters I've had, it required balancing (easy, even with good instructions). I bought 3 of these to replace in a common area with mismatched fans.
