I wore it outside on a very hot day gardening and digging up roots (I was working side by side with someone who was also wearing a mask). It was breathable and very comfortable. It's lightweight and I find it a good alternative when you need to be outside in hot weather. I wouldn't recommend wearing it for protection from anything as the fibers are very easy to breathe.
