Review on Tempaper Moire Designer Removable Wallpaper by Eddie Breezy

Good quality, looks good but can be difficult when rearranging

First of all, this wallpaper is of good quality and good thickness. Wasn't sure how to rate "transparency" as stated in the review when we apply it to cream colored walls but don't think it's clear or opaque. We put this wallpaper on 2 walls in the kitchen, one of which has curves around the window and door. The wallpaper rose well on a straight wall and looks great above and below cabinets. However, it's not easy to match points next to each other - in fact, you just can't. So if you're a perfectionist or have OCD, you might be bothered by imperfection, but there's so much going on with all of those points that it's actually not a bad thing at all. The template is quite forgiving in that sense. Now applying it to our rough curved walls around the window and door was a nightmare. As we expected, it will be - not the wallpaper's fault, but the style of wall mounting. It took my husband one night to paper the smooth and straight kitchen wall. And 3 nights to do another. The biggest problem with this wallpaper is when you need to rearrange it and you have flat/matt walls like ours. So the listing of these wallpapers says that you should stick on glossy or semi-glossy walls I think to be able to change the position if necessary. But we ordered it anyway and my husband was just trying to be careful. He is experienced (but not a pro) at wallpapering, has a lot of experience making models as a child and has the patience of a saint! He had to re-stick the wallpaper in several places, and the sticky adhesive on the back just peeled the paint off the wall. So be careful! This was a frustrating exercise (again, we knew the curved wall was going to be stiff, and it was), but it looks good. Except for the areas around the curves, where it bends etc. You only notice it when you are standing directly in front of it. If you're applying to straight walls, you shouldn't have this problem as long as you're careful when applying. Do not use your hands or fingers to smooth any bubbles off the wallpaper as you may smudge the blue ink. Use a plastic wallpaper smoothing tool instead. Use a needle to pierce the bubbles if you need to smooth them out, if that doesn't work with just a smoothing tool. Overall we're happy with the wallpaper itself - apart from the fact that it has peeled from the underlying paint - but again it shows it works best on gloss or semi-gloss paint so we knew we had one had matte paint underneath. and it can happen. You can't blame the wallpaper. If you have smooth straight walls and walls carefully applied and/or semi matte/gloss we expect it to be a lot smoother than our DIY. While my super patient and smart husband did a great job on this daunting task - because of the curves we wouldn't repaper this room (paint instead). If we remove this wallpaper we will have to completely sand, prime and repaint it to get a smooth surface again. So if you don't like it and need to take it off, keep that in mind (depending on your color underneath). Chosen by our designer, this wallpaper looks great in the kitchen/home and the quality of the paper is very good. I just wish the glue was easier to apply to non-glossy walls. We have used other brick wallpaper in the living room and it was much easier to rearrange without damaging the walls/paint underneath, but it wasn't as thick/quality wise as this paper. And again it was difficult to build a pattern. One more thing, it turned out that we hadn't ordered enough rolls for the job and had to order another roll a few months after the first batch arrived. Luckily it was the same series of stamps, so there were no color deviations. But I recommend you order MORE than you think you need to hedge as there will inevitably be losses. Especially if you're trying to be precise with your pattern. For example, this was easier with shorter elements above and below cabinets on a straight (left) wall. Hope that helps. See photos for overall view and close-ups. A great addition to our brown kitchen!
