Review on Case Logic DCB 308 Camera Sling by Gonzalo Marshall

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Don't be fooled by the "small " size

This little bag is great! Now I carry my Canon t4i with kit and zoom lens (55-250), battery attached, huge goiter, oven stretcher, charger and cables in the camera compartment. I still have enough room to add a 50mm or 40mm pancake when I get it. Removing the bulb allows for a flash and possibly another short lens. The top compartment (which was my main reason for hesitation) is actually quite large and adjustable. You can move up or down to the camera bay. I found this quite interesting as I can extend the bottom of the camera by about an inch or less depending on configuration. The front pocket is quite narrow and shallow, so don't stash your lost items here. Tablet (Asus TF101), as well as a notepad, ballpoint pen and cleaning pen. A tripod, or rather a monopod, is fine at best. Given the size of the bag, it might be too bulky to carry around, but I'll put that down to personal preference. I don't like carrying too many things. Most importantly, it is very easy to carry and unobtrusive. I also have a Vivitar DKS-20 which will comfortably fit a 15.4 laptop and a few other devices, but it's a large bag. You can't always get away without hitting things or people when trying to squeeze into hard-to-reach places. with him. The DCB-308 is fairly thin for the volume it can carry. The only downside I can lift is that the sling can only go over the left shoulder, which is the same shoulder I tie my Optech service harness to. I think that's a matter of getting used to. I could wear my previous bag on either shoulder, I would use the bag on the right shoulder and the camera strap on the left, but again, this isn't a deal breaker. I'll be posting photos of my setup soon. Overall very happy with the purchase! I highly recommend this bag! I found a bug in the bag. The top compartment opens with a zipper at the bottom when the bag is hanging in front of you. If you carry the bag on your back and slide forward to access the camera compartment (which should now be facing up), the top compartment, which opens in a "C" shape, opens from the bottom of the Pocket . Pocket. This can be an issue when the top tray is loaded. I carried a set of ND filters in a mesh pocket in the top compartment, so I had to be extra careful when removing snacks from my bag. This alone isn't enough to remove the star, but maybe enough to subtract 1/. 2. I was able to carry everything I needed and more during my trip to the Bahamas and felt my gear was always well protected as I rode the scooter around town. love the versatility of this bag. I use it several times a week and it's still holding up. I have to say I'm very impressed with the construction and the weather protection. We took our daughter to the zoo and it rained 4 of the 5 hours we were there. I packed everything in a bag and put a weatherproof cover over it and through the 4 hour rain the bag stayed dry with all its contents. Recently I took her with 9lb gear (Canon T4i, 50mm f1.4, 35mm f2.0, Rokinon 8mm f3.5 and some other stuff in the top compartment) to Disney World for a weekend and like one Person with lower back issues I can honestly say this bag didn't hurt my shoulders or my back in the two days I was there. All in all you can't get better value for money than this bag!
