Not a big deal, but there are far better options if you don't play tournaments.

The only issue I had with this unit that ultimately caused me to return it was the terrible compression and noise filters on the mic that couldn't be turned off. A very big oversight on the part of the developers! I have a condenser mic and I usually use Discord's built in noise filters as they work really well. I turned these settings off as recommended by Sennheiser but my mic sounded like a junk headset mic maybe worse than this lol it was really awful and extremely dull/distorted/compressed. If I could disable the mic "enhancements" I might be able to keep the product as it powers my 80ohm headphones well, but I doubt it could handle anything over 80ohms with sufficient power. For such a high price and the Sennheiser name behind it, I expected perfection, or at least close to it. To my disappointment, all the Soundstage improvements like Virtual 7.1 just distorted the sounds in all the games I tested. Because of this, my own shooting drowned out the sounds of nearby enemies that I would have otherwise noticed. I gave up all audio enhancements and was happy with the higher bitrate 2.0 mode. At that point I realized that I was paying all that extra money for nothing. I went with the much more affordable SoundBlaster with low expectations and to my surprise it offers a lot more detail in your input and output audio processing options as well as more power to drive higher impedance headphones. I would avoid this product until Sennheiser hears numerous reviews and hopefully fixes the firmware or releases a better product. Note to those interested in system latency: I tested DPC latency before and after installing the device and there was none. generally noticeable difference. However, this will overload the bandwidth of the USB host controller, so try to connect your mouse/keyboard to a dedicated controller on the motherboard if possible. It might not be noticeable to casual gamers, but if you aim for perfect system performance like me, you might notice a difference in the mouse test app. The USB polling rate for 1kHz mice varies slightly more when this amp/DAC is connected to the same USB host controller.
