Glad I took the chance

So I had an original Logitech trackball in the old ol' days of the 386SX and this thing was a tank. It was reliable, lasted forever, and rarely needed cleaning or maintenance. I believe he eventually died after about 14 years of service. I replaced it with newer models from the same company and was a bit disappointed. The new ones were less durable, got dirty and needed frequent cleaning, were cordless, and tended to burn the battery faster than I'd like. I looked through two of them because honestly there weren't many other options that were the same shape and form. In fact I still have one of these and while it works it holds together and I lost one of my Unifying receivers and didn't feel like spending fourteen bucks on a replacement. So I looked around for third-party alternatives. And here we are. This Elecom was affordable and worked just as well as the old model of my favorite trackball. Can't confirm reliability yet as I've only just gotten it, but it feels great and since it's plugged in you don't have to worry about battery life or proprietary dongle tracking. It just works. I replaced the black ball with a blue one from one of my old ones. It fits perfectly and seems to make it a bit more accurate. All in all it was a good buy. I'm glad I decided to do this. My wrist thanks me and the other trackball can be taken into the living room and used for a while on my HTPC where I have another receiver. Five stars. This is a good trackball.
