suitable for soft foods. Unfortunately the plastic is brittle. I broke a few tines as I dug into the tough chunks of meat. If this happens and you don't realize it and swallow a piece of tooth, it may not be good. It would be better if they were made of plastic which can bend a lot. no breaks or cracks
