very durable. I used to use a lighter and cheaper one that I broke 1 or 2 a year and that was harder to hold. I have very large hands and the body was smooth. Plastic. The Bentoben has better protection, non-slip rubber body and is more bulky which is good for my big hands. Inserting it into the belt clip is a bit trickier due to the rubber coating, but it works after a little practice. I'm on my second since I slammed the device into a chair and broke the belt clip. The belt clip is quite strong, but it's plastic and will break before the belt breaks. I liked the device enough to try a second one.
